Megan Robertson, a San Francisco based writer and artist, has spent her life following the conviction that sharing stories is the best way to effectuate change.
Megan is a San Francisco-based playwright, journalist, editor and performance artist. Originally from Dalton, Georgia, her multidisciplinary practice centers on the space where art and activism meet.
In her work as a journalist and editor, she shares and uplifts stories of community activism, politics and art in the Bay Area and around the nation. She is the Features Editor for the Richmond Review and Sunset Beacon newspapers.
On stage, Megan is a documentary theatre playwright, jazz and folk vocalist and musical theatre actress—her work striving for an embodied manifestation of activist thought.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies, with an emphasis in journalism, and Performing Arts & Social Justice, with a concentration in theatre, from the University of San Francisco.
Her current project, “If San Francisco Collapses—Where Are You?” is a verbatim documentary theatre production examining technology’s impact on the San Francisco Bay Area. Come see her staged reading of the play on April 24 at Bird & Beckett Books & Records in San Francisco. More information can be found here.
